Man killed in suspected DUI crash | News

North Port, Florida -- A North Port man was killed in a single vehicle crash late Sunday night.

North Port Police say 25-year-old Emanuel Wright was speeding while heading east on Parlay Lane and crossed over Parade Terrace and went up a steep incline. Wright's Honda Civic then hit a large rock that caused major damage to the car and came to a rest in a residential lot.

Wright was flown to Blake Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police say alcohol was involved but it is not known right now how large of a factor it played in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
